Surprise Giveaway (to all of us! lol)

Okay, to start with the good stuff...

Here's what I'm giving away!

No special hoops - if you want it - leave a comment - the giveaway will be open until next Tuesday, March 5th at 11:59 p.m.

Colours and an explanation, after the jump.  So, JUMP!

So, I was going to talk to you about flower pounding; but a little something happened (on the way to the Forum).

Over the weekend and on Monday night, I was rearranging my studio - I know I did it a year ago, but I did it then thinking I was going to continue to quilt.  Since I haven't made a quilt in more than a year and have no plans to do so in the near future, it would seem I'm not - so I've been arranging it as better suits what I'm currently doing.

With that in mind, I packed up a lot of fabric for storage, (I don't need yards and yards of fabric in my stash if I only ever use little bits), and I also packed up a lot of quiltng paraphernalia (various rulers, templates, quilting books and software etc.) I haven't used in more than year; and apparently, when I did that - I misplaced the fabrics I was going to show you for the flower pounding. Doh!

And since my other piece is at that boring stage no one wants to see, you get a present!

It turns out that painting and dyeing fabric is my thing and I just want to get better at that - so I've been putting away all the stuff I bought that's about other kinds of surface design - inlcuding this little kit (ha ha!) that I bought when I was a resident artist at And Then We Set It On Fire, but never actually used.

So if you'd like to give screen printing a whirl; or you're already a screen printer and want some free stuff, leave a comment! I'll be including these brand new inks, a squeegee and a slightly used screen.

See you on Friday!

Kit 120
P.S. I just realized that international shipping on this puppy would be prohibitive, (it is REALLY heavy);  so if my first winner is outside of North America, I'll send them a pack of four fat quarters of the following commercial fabrics, and pick another winner from the North American gang for the screen printing ink. Cheers,

Kit Lang

  15. I was surprised to hear you haven't quilted because I was certain that some of your pieces on your blog had been quilted but I guess not! I've been playing with thermofaxes and want to do some screen printing as well. I haven't given up the quilting yet but have added the dyeing and painting. I really need two studio rooms - one wet and one dry! Someday! Thanks for the wonderful giveaway.

  40. Hey Kit,
I'd love to win this and give it to my sister. She does screen printing and would make things with her Kindergarten class. I had to go through this process a few years ago, so, I gave up Pottery (all my tools are stored until I find someone to gift them to) and Folk Art painting (I have wood and brushes etc I will be selling this summer at my garage sale) and Knitting (yarn will go to a good cause) Thanks for the opportunity.

  41. I have tried this several times in classes but never could afford to really try it. Would you believe Speedball's plant is in my home town, but they do not allow any sales from the company. They really watch their commercial customers. Madelyn
